Clark Construction is in search of a Sourcing Development Representative (SDR) to generate leads using a multitude of sourcing tactics. The SDR position is a critical role within the Clark Acquisitions team and works closely with the sector senior executive team to identify and pursue new clients. This role is charged with reaching out to target prospects as an ambassador of Clark to foster relationships and build interest in the company’s portfolio offerings.

S/He is responsible for canvassing the market for potential opportunities that meet the criteria of a good project for Clark. The SDR will research, identify, and build relationships within target accounts and identify building projects the prospective client wishes to advance. In addition to direct outreach, the SDR will have an active presence at conferences and other association events, at times providing prospective clients with their first impression of working with Clark.

A successful SDR is outgoing and engages easily with others in person, over the phone, and via email. S/He is a self-starter, a high-energy multi-tasker, and deeply enjoys the thrill of the chase with respect to unearthing and developing new construction projects. S/He is excited for the opportunity to originate a role and measure various strategies to determine the most impactful path forward.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build long-term, trusting relationships with clients built on excellence at every touchpoint

  • Contact potential clients through events, cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other digital means

  • Educate prospects on Clark Construction offerings and differentiators

  • Qualify leads and projects against pre-defined criteria to determine fit with Clark business focus

  • Maintain and build contact database for outbound marketing campaigns

  • Actively engage in conferences, industry association events, and public hearings as a Clark brand ambassador

  • Identify client needs and advocate for appropriate Clark differentiators

  • Maintain detailed documentation and analysis of leads

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market through various online sources

  • Research target leads and create analysis of the prospect before-hand off to a Business Developer

  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Business Developer

Candidate Profile

  • Skillful communicator able to articulate ideas concisely and effectively, both written and verbal

  • Highly motivated individual who is inspired by a challenge and keen to learn

  • Ability to build connections with people making them feel heard and appreciated

  • Ability to extract and summarize relevant information from source materials

  • Ability to think quickly and adapt messaging to specific scenarios

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent field

  • Experience with Salesforce, or other sales- and marketing-related software solutions, preferred

  • Experience in sales, marketing, or telemarketing preferred
