Clark Construction Group, LLC Benefits Administrator in Bethesda, Maryland

The Benefits Administrator will be key member of our Total Rewards team. The role will focus on the benefits communication but also serve a point of contact for our employees for Health and Wellness.

Responsibilities

Health and Welfare Point of Contact

  • Serve as Health & Welfare Benefits contact for several Clark entities with emphasis on:

  • Processing new enrollment, life events, and terminations (COBRA).

  • Responding to general employee inquires.

  • Resolving claims issues.

  • Serve as first point of contact for leave of absence and job accommodation requests.

Communications

  • Manage ongoing maintenance of all benefits and leave of absence documents by partnering with outside vendors and Corporate Communications for:

  • Open Enrollment communications, Benefits Overview Guides, Benefits 101 presentations, brochures for recruiting, electronic notices (e.g., HIPAA Privacy Notice, CHIP, SAR, and Medicare Part D), and new hire onboarding documents.

  • Maintain benefits section of intranet and regularly post updates.

Compliance

  • Work with Benefits Manager and broader team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

  • Maintain accurate plan documents (e.g., SPD and SBC) and support timely filing of Form 5500, distribution of SAR, and CMS reporting.

  • Coordinate changes with Benefits team, Payroll, and HR Business Partners. Maintain HIPAA training and compliance.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in monthly Benefits Overview presentation for new hires.

  • Participate in benefit configuration testing.

  • Work with designated HR teammate on Policy Handbook updates.

  • Support Total Rewards Statements process.

  • Cultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership

  • Cultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. A mindset of "All team members are recruiters"

  • Exceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of Benefits experience.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

  • Excellent communication skills with emphasis on writing.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel (VLOOKUP, Sorting, Filtering, Pivot Tables).
